Teen singing hearthrob Reiven Umali joins the roster of Tawag ng Tanghalan champions.
The 18 year-old singer and Kumu streamer was named the latest champion of the country's longest-running singing competition held on Kapamilya noontime show It's Showtime, Saturday, September 18.
Reiven bested 7 other equally talented singing in the tilt's grand finals dubbed Huling Tapatan.
Reiven got 93% combined scores from the hurados composed of Louie Ocampo, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Karylle, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Nyoy Volante, and Klarisse de Guzman and the madlang people votes. Fellow top 3 contenters Adrian Manibale (2nd placer) and Anthony Castillo (3rd placer) meanwhile scored 55.7% and 52% respectively.
Umali in his first round sang Radio Head's The Creep getting him standing ovation from the judges. And for the final round he did a Moira dela Torre medley of Paubaya, Malaya and Tagpuan.
Reiven walked away with 1 million pesos in cash and 2.3 million worth of house-and-lot in prizes. He also won a management contract from Star Magic's Polaris and a recording deal with ABS-CBN music.
